The Imperial Nobility is a new team in Blood Bowl 3. This guide can give you the tips you need to craft your own team.

The Imperial Nobility is one of the newest teams in Blood Bowl 3, having been introduced into the board game with the Second Season relaunch in 2020. They are similar in many ways to the Bretonnian team from Blood Bowl 2, but also have many unique features and some new skills.

In this guide, we're going to give you all the info you need to build and develop your own Nobility team, as well as the best strategies to put into play on the pitch.

Starting with the Ogre, just like any build with Big Guys, means making some sacrifices, but Imperial Nobles really benefit from having the strength he brings. You can leave the Thrower out, and use one of your Noble Blitzers as your primary ball carrier. With Movement Allowance 7 they will give you more range, and their Block skill lets them fight through enemy lines or survive any hits better anyway.

The Bodyguards are the next most important players on the team, but you will only be able to afford three of the four in your starting roster. To fill out our eleven we take five Retainers.

Having only 2 Team Re-rolls is not ideal, so you will need to be a little cautious until you get a chance to develop the team further. After your other purchases this build has 15k remaining, so you can use that to buy some additional Dedicated Fans.

A fourth Bodyguard and a third Team Re-roll should be your immediate goals. After that, an Apothecary is a good addition, and finally, adding an Imperial Thrower, or another Retainer to take the roster up to thirteen players, will stand you in good stead for further play. The Throwers are better utility players than Retainers even when used defensively, thanks to their higher Armor Value and Agility.

Below is a list of the best starting skills for your Nobles. More expensive Secondary choices are listed in Italics.

Imperial Nobility are an interesting defensive and ground-pounding team, with many of their skills falling into the denial and control roles. Between all your Block, Wrestle, Stand Firm, and Fend, opponents will not have an easy time breaking your defense down unless they manage to remove players.

On offense, the Nobles have more of a challenge. Despite having a Thrower available, and Blitzers with the Catch skill, don't fall into the trap of thinking you can pass your way to victory. Nobles do not have the skills or mobility to make this approach work. You will need to play a running cage style, and use your blitzes each turn to create space in front of your cage to move players into.

Fouling is a very viable option for Nobles as you have very cheap linemen for the purpose, but you will need to wait until you have twelve or thirteen players on the roster to really take advantage of this without risk.
